| Description: | The Vancouver Clinic seeks to fill the new role of Decision Support Manager.
Do you have experience with statistics and strong problem-solving skills? We are looking for a leader with at least five years experience working as part of a reporting team using a platform such as Business Objects, in both an analytical and development capacity. Responsible for managing and enhancing decision support systems to provide data and analysis for sound business and clinical decisions. Analyze, develop, implement, and deliver plans for improving data warehousing, business intelligence, and application solutions. Manage the design and coding of Source Dependent Extracts, Source Independent Loads, and Post Load Processes from source target systems.

| Duties: | I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the day-to-day activities of the Decision Support department.
Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
Analyze, develop, implement, and deliver plans for improving data warehousing, business intelligence, and application solutions.
Work with users of the reporting tool to advise on best practices for the Clinic.
Manage the reporting and analytics platform(s) to ensure that scheduled jobs are successfully ran and analytic data aligns to requirements.
Work with database administrators to ensure that databases which feed the reporting platforms are tuned for optimal performance.
Manage end-user access to semantic layers of Business Objects.
Participate in project teams as necessary; assist with the definition of resources, responsibilities, and project timelines.
Manage the design and coding of Source Dependent Extracts, Source Independent Loads, and Post Load Processes from source target systems.
Manage the design and implementation of user defined dashboards and reports.
Manage the validation and implementation of business intelligence solutions.
Develop and manage tools and processes needed to sustain efficient delivery of analytics services.
Personnel Development and Supervision
Manage all aspects of hiring, orientation, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and compliance with Clinic policies and procedures.
Supervise, assess, and direct the activities of individual staff members.
Evaluate individual staff effectiveness within the department.
Establish clear performance expectations and hold staff accountable for successful job performance and work behavior.
Hire and place staff whom possess the right qualifications and personality to provide an efficient work environment.
Supervise and enforce policies with compassion to ensure that each person is treated fairly, equitably and with respect.
Use a management style which encourages and reinforces employee growth and development.
Model professional, proactive, and positive behavior.
Effectively orient staff to policies/procedures for the Clinic and to what is expected on the job.
Respond to questions from the staff in a timely manner.
Complete and review employee evaluations by due date.
Identify and address training needs, and use of outside resources and/or appropriate staff.

Management of Decision Support Department including the Decision Support Supervisor and Data Analysts.

| Qualifications: | A Baccalaureate Degree.
At least five years experience working as part of a reporting team using a modern reporting platform such as Business Objects, in both an analytical and development capacity.
Experience administering a reporting platform.
Experience working with structured query language.
Experience in a management / leadership role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge and experience with statistics and strong problem-solving skills.
